Graduation Thesis Writing of English Major Based on the Teaching Practice

Abstract: Many researches have been done to deal with the problems in graduation thesis writing of English major, but little concern is given to the role of the experiential and cognitive foundation of the writer in thesis writing. The present paper, based on a survey of the dissertation writing process, argues that the lack of this foundation accounts for the major difficulties in thesis writing. This paper, grounding on assumptions of cognitive theory, proposes a thesis writing and guiding model with the teaching practice as resources and tries to construct an assessment system with 5 dimensions for the guidance of graduation thesis writing.
